Another One Bites the Dust

Yesterday the Anaheim Ducks were eliminated from the playoffs by the Dallas Stars. The last defending Stanley Cup champ to advance in the playoffs the following year was the Colorado Avalanche in 2002. The last two defending champs, before the Ducks, didn't even make the playoffs the following year. Is this a trend that will continue in a salary cap NHL? Will we ever see a Dynasty again?

2008 Fantasy Review

The 2007/2008 fantasy season is coming to a close. I hope everyone had a good year. I am about to win the championship in my Yahoo Keeper league and I am also in the championship in my Islandermania Yahoo League. I am also in a 30 team Keeper League but I have been at the bottom of the league every year since I took over the team a few years ago. Although, I do enjoy building a team through youth and the draft.

The Rise of Carey Price

I luckily have Carey Price on one of my keeper league fantasy teams and I have been following his career closely since I acquired him in a trade. I believe we are witnessing the rise of the next great goalie in the NHL. The Montreal Canadiens may be the luckiest team in the NHL, not named the Pittsburgh Penguins. Although, not ignoring the tremendous skill of the young dynamic duo of Crosby and Malkin, Price may very well have a more significant impact on his team and be arguably the better player in the long run.
